rosiespark: (bekie098's gee)
Help! The more I spend, the easier it seems to get. Especially when things are on sale!
You'd think I'd be being careful, wouldn't you, after a major outlay on the new computer just last week? A sensible person would, I'm sure.

::sticks fingers in ears and whistles unconcernedly::

The damage so far:

- Oscar and Lucinda on dvd for £2.99 with free P&P. It's not without its flaws as a film, but makes up for it by having a luminous Cate Blanchet and a very fey Ralph Fiennes on screen together. Complete impulse buy - but irresistable at the price!

- Season 3 of Supernatural. This has been on my wishlist ever since there was a release date for it, and, well, now that season 4 has started, I gave in to temptation and sold my soul to the devil... Seriously, flist, if you don't already watch this show and you're looking for something clever, moving and just scary enough to not quite give you nightmares, you could do far worse that give it a try.

- And finally, one more impulse buy, which I'm blaming on a bad case of work avoidance this morning: Edward Gorey's Amphigorey for £8.06, free P&P again. It's a collection of fifteen of Gorey's works, including three that I know and love: The Gashlycrumb Tinies, The Unstrung Harp and The Curious Sofa. By this point, any semblance of willpower has long since fled the scene.

It's a slippery slope. Oops! ::slides merrily down into penury::
