Woe is me!

I'm off to the dentist this afternoon. ::sigh:: A long-deferred visit, finally made unputoffable by the fact that I have toothache. Thing is, it's the sort of toothache that serves as a polite but persistent reminder that All Is Not As It Should Be. With an undercurrent of Ignore Me And You'll Live To Regret It.

Good God, my teeth are talking to me! Does this count as hearing voices in my head?

PS The mood icon! That's me, in the dentist's chair. Oh dear.

Clearly, the responsible thing for me to do is ignore it

Heh. Try the commonsense approach - 1) it's not going to get better on its own is it? And 2) you don't want it to get any worse. Right? Right. So off you go.

*g*

No, no, no! It works like this: Something is wrong. It will either 1) Get better, 2) Get worse, 3) Stay the same. If it gets better, why bother? If it stays the same, it can't be that bad. If it gets worse, then you can go.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Can I poke holes in your story? *g*

1) Teeth don't get better on their own.
2) One invariably gets excrutiating toothache when the dentist is closed.
3) One ends up sitting in the dentist's chair anyway.

So it's a matter of calculatedly choosing to suffer a bit now rather than suffer more at a later stage. Looks like I'm an instant gratification girl when it comes to pain as well as everything else. LOL.

1) Ah, but mine do! Sometimes. Pain in my teeth is often a sinus or grinding issue. So you see, it actually does work.

Or maybe you have magical self-repairing teeth. That work (presumably) on the same principle as self-cleaning ovens and frost-free freezers... ;)

I am always open to suggestions of the miraculous. Especially as concern teeth.
