I really loved that. The short clipped phrases that reinforce the progress of the story towards the inevitable and show determination on Kennedy's part.

Also really loved this:

There is a sense of symmetry, even, when the affair is viewed in this way, which Horatio’s mathematical bent should allow him to appreciate. Or perhaps not.

It all hangs together so well and interlocks piece by piece. Again -- that progression.
