She's back!
May. 3rd, 2004 10:19 pmPixel's back. I can hardly believe it! She's got an obviously broken back leg, but she's fine otherwise. I looked up at the kitchen window, which looks onto the street, and there she was. She came home, bless her. ::pause to say "Pickie, Pickie" and get a faint croaky miaow (normal Pixel voice) in response::
She would have been gone two weeks tomorrow. The leg seems to have healed, badly - but I'll see what the vet has to say about it tomorrow. Pixie on three carry one, as my Dad put it, is infinitely better than no Pix at all. She's such a sweetie - she's been purring and washing herself, and now she's playing with Billy. Tough little girl, my Pixel!
I don't suppose I'll ever know where she's been all this time. My guess would be the fields behind the house, which take some climbing to get back to street level. Poor sweetie made it home as soon as she could, with a back leg that's virtually useless. Hell, she managed the five foot jump to the kitchen windowsill! What puzzles me most is that she's a little bit thin, but not starving. So what's she been eating? I've put up posters all over the place, so if someone had taken her in, surely they would have phoned me. Ah well, it's a mystery I can live with, now that she's safe.
