I went through a phase of not liking my first name much...
When I was very young my mother called me "Betty", which she thought was a wonderful name. I hated it from the time I was old enough to say it, maybe even from the time I was old enough to understand it. When I was twelve I was finally able rebel and insist on being called by my 'real' name, Elizabeth, though a lot of people turn that into Liz or Lizzie anyway... which is okay. I can handle that.
like the Doctor!
Yeah. See why I love that show? I like his attitude.
The flowers were plumbago - gorgeous. We have geraniums in Ottawa, but not plumbago, for whatever reason, probably climate. Your place looked so nice. I will visit again as soon as I can afford it... I blush to say that I am still paying off the first time. Yeah, I'm slow.
Now I can't hear the word 'hermit' without laughing, remember the Doctor's line in "Utopia" about hermits getting together every ten years to talk about caves. What a lovely bit of nonsense.
Yes, banana daiquiris, invented 300 years earlier than they should have been in "The Girl in the Fireplace".
I don't like sushi either. I like most other bits of Japanese food - well, not the pickled stuff, and not the wasabi, but I love the tempura. We can do Chinese if you like, just to be safe! And there, see, you do have fine discerning taste becuase we dislike the same things and that's as discerning as you can get.
