Shiny! No - really!

I bought strawberries on my way home today - beautiful red glossy Kaylee-type strawberries. Mmmm.

And I cooked basmati rice and bought eggs and curry powder so that tomorrow I can make damned_colonial's kedgeree. It looks yummy.

I'm all about food today. Heh.

Mmm, it does look yummy. Smoked Alaska black cod, I think. I must try this for breakfast, for a change, and when I'm feeling energetic first thing in the late morning. XD

I confess to planning to use a tin of salmon in mine - but will investigate availability of smoked fish (other than salmon) for future attempts.

Right, off to boil some eggs and chop an onion or two.

I don't like canned salmon, so I'd probably use sardines in a pinch. Smoked fish is easily available here--cod, kippers, tuna, mackerel--so that wouldn't be a problem. But I like sardines.

I made it, and it was...okay, I suppose. I wasn't thrilled. Probably owing to too much (mild) curry powder, it was rather dry.

I have the second half of it to look forward to for tonight. *sigh* Oh joy.

I expect the choice of fish is crucial. Salmon has altogether the wrong taste and texture and I don't like the idea of canned salmon with curry. Ewww.
