Depends on the crime! Only if it's a really good one.

Well, top of the list is robbing a bank so that I can come to Ottawa and go all the other places I want to visit/revisit. London for an extended stay, Venice for the same, so many beautiful places all over Europe...

Tempted?

It will have to be a big bank.... Mmm. Which of my heroic role-models can I turn to for this one? Lex Luthor, maybe - the rich American robber baron. Of Mal from Firefly, though his heists have a habit of backfiring.

I take it that's a yes. *g*

Hmm. Yeah, I'm not sure Mal's the right person for the sort of bloodless violence-free heist I had in mind.

2009. The Dunnett Carnival of Venice. Just maybe. If I'm feeling particularly mad. Watch this space (planning trips will be necessary - you have been warned).

You do know I can speak Italian? I'm just back from a two-day work trip to Sicily - so my Italian is slightly less rusty than it was last week. I hereby volunteer to be official interpreter for all planning trips...

I'm planning to try and talk CB into a long weekend in Venice later this year. Maybe May (if I can get away with it). I am fed up of the beautiful British weather at present, and want sunshine. Though the Italian food is now mostly off limits since my little episode. Planning would be a must, and an Italian speaker (or rather a speaker of Italian) would be a definite bonus.

Ooh! I might be able to make late May - the first half of the month is taken up by our annual Commonwealth course. The only question is whether I'd be able to afford it. *sigh*

Italian food doesn't have to be heavy, digestively speaking - surely you're allowed pasta and tomato sauce and vegetables and fish? Well, I hope you are! Anyway, Venice isn't renowned for its gastronomy - and surely the architecture and atmosphere would more than make up for having to abstain from culinary delights!

an Italian speaker (or rather a speaker of Italian)

I think you mean a speaker of Italian who also speaks English. Because the majority of speakers of Italian don't. ;)
