inlovewithnight - thank you, darling! Cue much anticipatory squeeing over Ioan as Bosinney - I don't expect to mind the straightened hair, even. I mean, he was missing the curls as Freddy Bywaters in Another Life and still managed to be smoking scorching hot.
And look, new icon! This is my vision of Horatio ininlovewithnight's Racket Boys universe, a Hornblower gangster AU. Two parts so far: Racket Boys and Luck May Have Died. I'm not usually much of a fan of AU's, but this one rocks, and it's entirely due to inlovewithnight's deft hand with characterisation and the way she introduces little familiar touches of plot and background from the original. Recommended reading if you're a Hornblower fan, even if AU's are not your usual cup of tea!
There are three pics from the same shoot under the cut - they're what I immediately saw in my head when I read the first scene of Luck May Have Died, where Horatio's waiting for Archie to be released from prison. I couldn't remember where I'd seen them before, so it took much dedicated research on Ioan Online to track them down - oh, the suffering! *g*

Date: 2006-03-11 05:15 pm (UTC)I knew I'd seen a shot of Ioan leaning against a car in a parking lot - except that I thought he was smoking in the pic, just as Horatio is in your fic. That would have been absolutely perfect!
I shall choose to ignore the fact that you distinctly mention that he's wearing a shirt and tie. Ahem.
The way he looks in these pics, though, is the way Archie describes him: "He was thinner, the angles of his face sharp and stark where before there had been a bit of a softness, a gentling over those fierce bones." Precisely.
