On the ceiling, to be precise.  Not wandering around, just... stuck there above the head of my bed. I suspect either the permanently open catflap - Billy and Pixie shot through it the other week during one of their mad games, and the flap part parted company with the frame and went sailing out onto the terrace - or the one day last week when I forgot to close the bedroom shaft window.

Maybe I should remove it.  It's not bothering me at the moment, but what if , one humid night, it decides to go for a walk?  Ewww.  Ok, definitely removing it.

And replacing the catflap has suddenly become imperative. Tsk, tsk.  What's the use of having three cats if they don't protect you from invading wildlife?

I shall take care to sleep with my mouth closed. I've eaten one snail this year and that was more than enough!

::shudder:: Snails give me the wiggins. (Patricia Highsmith's "The Snail Watcher" traumatized me as a child.) Eeeewwwww.

What an... appropriate icon. *g*

Patricia Highsmith's "The Snail Watcher" traumatized me as a child.

Not familiar with it. Would it traumatize you too much to tell me more?

The opening line (took it off Amazon): When Mr Peter Knoppert began to make a hobby of snail-watching, he had no idea that his handful of specimens would become hundreds in no time.

(It's been 30+ years since I read it so I don't remember details--mostly just my visceral response.) Erm, basically he forgets to go into the snail room for a while. When he finally does, they're everywhere and start crawling all over him. It was when they crawled into his mouth that I lost it. Which still sounds fairly gross to me now but it really imprinted itself on my youthful brain.

In my old place, there was a snail on the roof outside my bedroom window, and it freaked me out so much (even being outside!) one day I just had to open the window and flick it away, LOL.

Then of course I was paranoid about where it landed. Downstairs window??

Oh, poor snail! I rather like snails - just not terribly keen on the thought of being walked on by one...

I didn't dislike it but I didn't like it permanently looking in my window either, hahah.

I failed to remove it before going to bed - I was only going to put it back outside - and it vanished during the night.

Round one to the snail, wouldn't you say? ;)

The snail in your icon doesn't look very friendly. "Annoy a snail and live to regret it".

Vanished? What, it has a transmat beam or a TARDIS? I have a suspicion that if your snail has vanished, that means it went somewhere. Isn't that even scarier?

Apparently, yes. How else could it have disappeared without a trace? No, don't answer that. Am I worried? Not really. ;)
